What is a Day of Caring?

Day of Caring is a unique opportunity for our community to work together to make a difference. We work with companies, organizations, and the community to create meaningful volunteer opportunities that will impact lives and create HOPE. The United Way works to plan the event, recruit partners and volunteers that together tackle a project that takes no more than one day. The United Way MSJC recognizes that there are many needs in our area that reach beyond the arms of our programs. That is why we have developed a Day of Caring Portal. Through this page, you can submit a project for consideration or request to be a part of the Day of Caring Team.

Organizations or individuals can submit a project for consideration. A volunteer committee will review requests no less than twice a year to select Day of Caring activities. Depending on the number of volunteers, project scope, and resources available a Day of Caring may include one or multiple projects. There is no doubt that every request is a need and would impact the community the committee must review to determine if the project is within our capacity.

Volunteering at a Day of Caring event is life-changing. As individuals, we see firsthand the power of investing in our community and taking action to help others. For those that have wanted to volunteer, but weren't sure where to begin, a Day of Caring is a perfect starting point for your volunteerism. For organizations, companies, and industries, the time spent participating in a Day of Caring event offers great team-building experiences. The United Way also offers personalized Day of Caring events for individual companies and industrial partners.
